Overview
This workshop will cover how to apply for a U.S. patent, trademark or copyright for your unique software, business method or mechanical/electronics design. You will learn what is involved in completing and submitting an application to the U.S. Patent Office and the methodology used to review the application by a Patent Office examiner.
The workshop will include:
A general description of the process for obtaining a U.S. patent, trademark or copyright
A hands-on patent claim drafting exercise for a software/business method patent
A hands-on patent claim drafting exercise for a mechanical patent Information on how to read a patent and how to recognize the quality of a patent application
Criteria for choosing a qualified patent attorney
About the Presenter:
Michael J. Feigin, Esq., an accomplished patent and trademark attorney and a graduate of Seton Hall Law School, has been issued many software, mechanical, medical, electrical, chemical and design patents. He has drafted patents for large and small companies, as well as for start-ups and individual inventors.
