Article Update: How Amazon, Etsy, and Other Retailers Respond to Patent/Trademark Complaints
The article How Online Retailers Respond to Trademark and Copyright Infringement has been updated today. Unfortunately, it's to significantly downgrade Etsy. They're now approaching "Amazon territory" which is not a good place to be. In short, they respond with form letters which are roughly translated as: "We don't care that a claim against you is fraud. We don't care about our sellers. We only want to cover ourself as cheaply as possible so we'll take down your listing anyway."
It's a great time to be a buyer from an online retailer. It's a terrible time to be a seller. Clients are recommended to go to Ebay, a more mature sellers platform that has less problems for the honest seller.
